Help Choosing the Right Product

Touch up small painted chips, scratches and worn spots on wood furniture, cabinets, doors, tables and dressers. The small built-in brush helps you work just on the affected area.

This is opaque touch-up paint with a matte finish. It will not recreate visible wood grain on a stained finish. Choose wood stain when preserving natural grain is the goal, or furniture paint for a full repaint.

Choose White, Black or Ivory White. Color names are a starting point, not a guarantee that the paint will match an existing factory finish.

Test a hidden spot, let it dry, then compare it in the room’s normal lighting. Check sheen as well as color: a matte touch-up can stand out against a glossy surface.

Clean the area and let it dry. Remove loose coating and smooth rough edges as needed, then remove the dust. The surface beneath the repair must be stable.

Test adhesion on the existing finish before continuing. Paint will not fill a deep gouge or repair cracked, swollen or loose wood; make those repairs first.

Mix the color as directed on the bottle and use the built-in brush to apply a thin layer over the mark. Keep the repair small and avoid a raised paint edge.

Let each layer dry as directed before adding another. Protect the area from rubbing, moisture and cleaning until it is ready for normal use. Follow this bottle’s instructions rather than drying times from a different paint.

A targeted repair works best for isolated marks. When many areas are worn or the surrounding color has faded, repainting the full panel or piece can give a more even result.

Keep the color name for future repairs and test again on aged finishes. Ask us about your project with a photo if you need help choosing between touch-up paint, wood stain and a full furniture coating.
