Help Choosing the Right Product

For properly prepared iron, steel and aluminum, indoors or outdoors. Suitable projects include gates, railings, fences, garage doors and metal furniture.

For galvanized metal, stainless steel, plated finishes or an unknown old coating, check with us first. Test a small, hidden area before coating the whole project.

Remove dirt, grease, rust and loose or peeling paint.
Sand rough or glossy areas, then remove the dust.
Let the surface dry completely before painting.

A lasting finish starts with sound metal and a firmly bonded surface. This paint provides a protective colored finish; it does not repair holes, structural damage or severely corroded metal.

The manual allows direct application to properly prepared metal, so a separate primer is not automatically required. Stir the paint thoroughly before use; there is no separate hardener to mix in.

This is a colored metal paint, not a rust-converter treatment. If your project needs a rust converter or another undercoat, confirm compatibility and recoating instructions before combining products.

500 g / 16 oz: One can of paint with application tools.
2 × 500 g / 32 oz: Two 500 g cans, totaling 1 kg, with application tools.

The kit photos show the brush, roller, gloves, masking supplies and cloths included with each option. Select your color and kit size above to see the matching photo.

Coverage reference: The manual lists about 25–30 sq. ft. per coat for the 16 oz size. For the recommended 2 coats, plan on roughly 12.5–15 sq. ft. per can or 25–30 sq. ft. for two cans. These are planning estimates calculated from the manual, before allowing for texture, application losses or extra coats.

Measure every side you will paint, including the edges of rails and bars. A solid 3 × 4 ft panel has 24 sq. ft. across both faces, before edges.

Apply: Stir well, test a small area, then brush or roll thin, even coats. Two coats are generally recommended. Clean tools promptly with soap and warm water.

Touch dry: About 2–4 hours.
Recoat: After about 2 hours, once the previous coat is ready.
Light use: After at least 24 hours.
Curing: About 48 hours; maximum hardness after 7 days.

Cooler or more humid conditions extend drying. Apply at 41–104°F (5–40°C), below 80% humidity, with ventilation. Avoid rain and protect the fresh coating from water and heavy use while it cures.

Touch dry does not mean rain-ready. Do not apply to surfaces above 200°F (93°C); check suitability for high-heat or continuously submerged projects.
