Help Choosing the Right Product

Give metal projects a fresh painted finish with protection against moisture and rust. The quick-drying, low-odor formula suits a range of indoor and outdoor projects.

The product listing includes iron, steel and aluminum. Common projects include metal gates, fences, garage doors and furniture.

Check compatibility with any existing coating and prepare the surface as directed. Test a small area before painting the full project.

Remove dirt, grease, rust and loose paint. Lightly sand rough areas, remove the dust and let the surface dry completely. Stir well and test a small area before painting.

Apply thin, even coats; two coats are generally recommended. Clean tools promptly with soap and warm water.

The manual lists approximately 25–30 sq. ft. per coat for the 16 oz (500 mL) size. Allow paint for two coats; texture and application method affect coverage.

Choose 16 oz or 32 oz above. Measure all painted surfaces and confirm coverage for your selected size before ordering for a larger project.

Approximately 2–4 hours to touch dry, with recoating after 2 hours. Allow at least 24 hours before light use. The manual lists approximately 48 hours for full curing and 7 days for maximum hardness.

Allow extra drying time in cooler or more humid conditions. Protect the finish from heavy use and outdoor exposure until it has cured.
