Home bathtub refinishing project using solvent-free low-odor DWIL 2K Epoxy

How to Apply

  1. Cleaning and sanding a worn bathtub surface before applying DWIL 2K epoxy coating
    01

    Clean, Repair & Sand

Remove old coating and silicone, deep clean the surface, repair defects, and let it dry completely. Sand thoroughly, wipe away all dust, and mask the surrounding area.

The surface must be clean and completely dry before coating.

  2. Mixing DWIL 2K epoxy base and hardener before refinishing a bathtub
    02

    Mix the 2K Coating

Pour Part B hardener into Part A base. Stir for 5–8 minutes, let the mixture stand for 5–10 minutes to release bubbles, then stir again for 1 minute. For a partial batch, maintain the 4:1 ratio by weight.

Use the mixed coating within approximately 40 minutes.

  3. Applying an even coat of DWIL 2K epoxy to a bathtub rim with a paint brush
    03

    Pour, Spread & Level

Pour from the top rim so the coating flows down the surface. Use the serrated plastic spreader for a thin, even layer, the mini foam roller on the bottom and flat areas, and the brush for corners and detail areas.

Work evenly and remove excess coating before it begins to set.

  4. Glossy white bathtub finish drying and curing after DWIL 2K epoxy application
    04

    Ventilate & Cure

Keep the area ventilated and protect the coated surface from water, cleaners, dust, and contact while the high-gloss finish cures.

    Touch-dry: 24 hours · Light use: 36–48 hours · Full cure: 7 days.
