Clean & Sand the Surface

Check that the painting surface is real wood or genuine wood veneer. Remove grease, wax, dirt and loose coating; lightly sand with the grain, remove dust and let dry. Prime stain-prone areas when needed.

Start with a clean, sanded, dry surface.

Stir Thoroughly

Stir from the bottom until the paint is smooth and uniform. If thinning is needed, add less than 5% water and mix well. Do not mix with other paints or oil-based coatings.

Use promptly after opening.

Apply Thin Coats

Brush or roll thin, even coats with the grain where practical. Let each coat dry before recoating, lightly sand between coats as directed, and remove dust. A large color change may need extra thin coats.

Allow about 2 hours between coats.

Dry and Cure

Handle gently after 36–48 hours. Allow about 7 days before regular use and cleaning; keep heavy objects off the finish and avoid dragging items or scrubbing while it cures.

Light use after 36–48 hours; full cure in 7 days.

1. Will this work on my furniture, including veneer or flat-pack pieces?

Start with the outermost surface. Sound solid wood and genuine wood veneer are the intended wood surfaces; an engineered core does not tell you whether the outer finish is suitable.

Plastic laminate, melamine, paper foil and wood-effect coverings are not recommended for direct application. Check the furniture material listing or ask its maker if you are unsure. Previously painted or sealed wood needs cleaning, sanding and a hidden-area adhesion test first.

2. How much preparation and sanding do I need?

Clean off grease, wax and dirt, remove loose coating, then lightly sand in the direction of the wood grain. Remove all dust and let the wood dry completely before painting. Repair unstable or damaged areas first.

Lightly sand between coats as directed for a smoother finish. On veneer, work gently without sanding through the wood layer. Plan for cleaning and sanding as part of the project.

3. Do I need primer, especially for dark wood or stains?

Check the wood and its existing finish before deciding. Raw wood, knots, tannin-rich or stained wood may need a compatible sealing or stain-blocking primer, particularly when changing to a light color.

Test a hidden area. If yellow, brown or reddish marks appear, stop and address the staining before adding more paint. Follow the primer label for drying and compatibility. A primer is a separate preparation product and is not listed in this kit.

4. What finish will I get, and will the wood grain still show?

The current color range has a matte finish. This is a paint for changing the surface color, not a transparent wood stain. Wood texture and existing imperfections may still show through the painted finish.

Screen swatches and room lighting can change how a color appears. Test your chosen color on a hidden area and inspect it after drying. Smooth preparation and thin, even coats help control brush marks; large color changes may need additional coats.

5. Which size should I choose?

Reference coverage with 2 coats is about 8 sq. ft. for 5 oz / 150 g, 25 sq. ft. for 16 oz / 500 g, and 50 sq. ft. for 32 oz / 1 kg.

Measure the actual area you will paint, including sides, drawer fronts, legs and edges. A dresser or table is not a standard size, so furniture counts are not a coverage guarantee. Rough or absorbent wood and extra coats use more paint. Available sizes vary by color.

6. When can I recoat, use and clean the furniture?

Allow about 2 hours between thin coats, waiting longer if needed for the coat to dry. The manual lists about 24 hours to touch dry, 36–48 hours after the final coat for light use, and about 7 days for full cure.

Do not treat light use as full cure. Keep heavy objects off the surface and avoid dragging items, scrubbing or heavy cleaning during curing. Temperature, humidity and coat thickness can extend these times.

7. How should I care for it, and do I need a topcoat?

After full cure, clean gently with mild detergent and water. Avoid standing water, harsh chemicals, abrasives and metal scrapers.

A topcoat is not automatically the right choice for every piece. For a frequently used desktop or other high-touch surface, confirm that the protective coating is compatible and test first. Do not assume any wax or clear coat is suitable, or that a topcoat makes the finish scratch-proof.

8. What comes in the kit, and what else should I prepare?

The listed contents are wood furniture paint, a foam roller, a paint brush, one pair of disposable gloves, two sanding sheets, pre-taped masking film, painter's tape and an instruction manual.

Plan for cleaning supplies and any repairs. Stain-blocking primer or a compatible protective topcoat, when your project needs one, is separate. Choose the paint quantity by surface area, and check the package contents for the size you order.
